Following a series of triumphant festival gigs and recent remixes for the likes of Major Lazer, MIA, The Prodigy and Kid Sister, seminal rave duo K.L.A.M. (aka Kicks Like a Mule) are screaming back with a new original release on Fool's Gold, the dancefloor flash grenade "Funky 4."

The tune is a cheeky nod to the group's breakbeat past, but its frantic snare rolls and staccato bass thumps are undeniably right on time. Smash remixes by dirty house titans The Martin Brothers and two-stepping upstart Hot City round out the release, while dark and dubby b-side "South London A1 Sound" offers another look at where K.L.A.M. are headed today.

This year during Coachella, we got together with our friends from Stones Throw for one fine evening of "disco, boogie and house music" (as the hand-drawn flyer advertised) from Peanut Butter Wolf, The Brothers Macklovitch (A-Trak and Dave1), Mayer Hawthorne, Jokers Of The Scene, James Pants, and Chris Bag Raiders. Aloe Blacc was on mic duties throughout the evening, and, as you can see from the video highlight reel, a groovy time was had by all.

The night went so well, in fact, that we decided to base a whole tour around it: the Stones Throw x Fool's Gold Discotheque, featuring Peanut Butter Wolf, A-Trak, J Rocc and Nacho Lovers (alongside DJ sets from some very special guests: Treasure Fingers, Holy Ghost!, Mayer Hawthorne and more)

The tour kicked off in Chicago with a Lollapalooza afterparty (pics here and here) followed by Kelly's Mission Rock in San Francisco. This weekend we will hit Portland, and wrap up with a very special boat party in Vancouver. Check the lineups and details here.
