Trackademicks Debut Single Out Today!

Posted on Feb 17th, 2009

YEEE! Today we’re proud to finally release the debut solo single by our big bay homey Trackademicks. The a-side is uptempo slapper “Enjoy What You Do,” backed by huge club remixes from Flosstradamus and Sammy Bananas, and on the b-side you have the smoothed-out stylings of “Topsidin,” featuring MoxMore of Trackademicks’ Honor Roll crew.

Actual factual vinyl is on its way – meanwhile, you can cop the whole thing right this second from iTunes, Rhapsody and anywhere else fine digital music is sold. The Rhapsody folks also filmed Track dropping Bay knowledge for their “Rock Star Guide To The Galaxy” series, and you can watch it here.

If that’s not enough, you can preview “Enjoy What You Do” over at RCRD LBL or on this handly likkle widget below. And don’t forget the single release party TOMORROW (2/18) at Vessel in SF!

Mike Baker The Bike Maker

Posted on Jan 26th, 2009

Earlier this month Mike Baker (of Trackademicks’ Honor Roll crew) dropped his debut EP online, and you can download it here. It’s 5 original tunes and 4 freestyles over some particularly creative beats (Metro Area, yes please!) More on Mr Baker at his blog, a one-stop shop for new music and classy jawns.

Trackademicks "Happy Birthday To Me"

Posted on Jan 6th, 2009

Our resident Northern Cali representer Trackademicks just celebrated his born day (salud!) and filmed a new tune for the occasion at the party. Says he: “The above clip is footage of the most epic Birfday I have had to date. And halfway through the clip it gets better… Just because you read that Hyphy was ‘dead’ in some publication, doesn’t mean the Bay forgot how to go DUMB.”

More pics from the celebration here. Track’s Enjoy What You Do single is in production now, release details announced very soon!

FG Holiday Party Pics

Posted on Dec 22nd, 2008

This past Friday we had our 2nd annual Fool’s Gold holiday jam. Even with a NYC blizzard in full effect all day, the true believers came out to party with the FG fam and our special guests DJ Premier and Cipha Sounds. Kid Sister and Trackademicks cut it up on the dancefloor, Daniel LA Riots and Linus JOTS were spotted with Pepsi-n-Hennessy coctails in hand, Primo dropped “Hold It Now Hit It,” and a festive time was had by all. (Dust swears he saw Macaulay Culkin in the mix but I don’t believe him he needs more people).

Check out Ian Meyer’s gallery of party pics here, and some Trackademicks snapshots here. As a bonus beat, watch some interview footage John Brown (“KingOfDaBurbz”!) was filming at the party on his Flipcam.

Check out Sammy Bananas’ take on Hollywood Holt’s “Hollywood” over at the iheartcomix blog and Trackademicks’ version of Zion I and The Grouch’s “Lift Me Up” on iTunes. As if that’s not enough, you can find both Sammy and Track reworking different songs from Tittsworth’s debut album on the new T&A Remixes single, available on digital and vinyl at Turntable Lab. Teamwork!

Fool's Gold Remixed Tour (Belated) Recap

Posted on Nov 24th, 2008

Last month a bunch of the FG fam went out on the road to celebrate the release of our Fool’s Gold Remixed compilation with Scion. And now we finally got all the pics back (save for the Philly date, I blame Andy Reid…) and can share em with you after the jump.

Stay tuned for a limited edition vinyl 12″ of selected tracks from the comp, and look for copies at various Fool’s Gold and Scion events throughout the rest of this year and next. And if you can’t track the CD down, cop the remixes from your favorite digital retailer. Now onto the recap-ery! Read More

Fool's Gold x Vice x Bacardi Chromeo Remixes

Posted on Nov 15th, 2008

I’m surprised we didn’t do this earlier! Chromeo is my brother with our childhood friend, Fool’s Gold is my label… It’s only natural to get Fool’s Gold producers to remix Chromeo. Yet it took Bacardi to make it happen. Bacardi’s B-Live program brings you these funkier-than-thou remixes of the slick album closer “100%.” You all know Treasure Fingers from his infectious two-stepper ‘Cross The Dancefloor’ and multiple remixes as of late. If you’re up on your new releases you probably heard Nacho Lovers’ inaugural and timeless single “Acid Life.” And to flip things a little we recruited Bay Area rapper-slash-producer Trackademicks, whose single “Enjoy What You Do” is just about to drop! Start downloading…NOW.
