Telephoned "Nearly Lost You"

Posted on Jan 11th, 2013

The free Telephoned EP Singles is the duo’s grunge valentine, covering cuts from Cameron Crowe’s soundtrack over Ryan Hemsworth beats. Sammy and Maggie turned Seattle rockers into R&B slow jams in the process (even CC himself approves, tweeting at Telephoned to do “Dyslexic Heart” and “State Of Love And Trust” next!) and now they’ve dropped a video for their take on Screaming Trees’ “Nearly Lost You” (put together by our own Josh Wehle).

Telephoned play live at Cameo in Brooklyn on Sunday, January 20th, alongside Cookies and Tubetops. Go vibe out with them! And check out Telephoned’s U Don’t Have To Call (more “cover ups,” this time over Clams Casino beats) and their “Last Time” single for even more.

DJs Against Climate Change Instore This Wednesday

Posted on Dec 3rd, 2012

This Wednesday (12/5) we’re hosting an event in the Fool’s Gold store for DJs Against Climate Change, the non profit organization founded by Sammy Bananas. Now entering it’s 5th year of helping DJs offset the environmentally damaging carbon emissions produced from their airplane travel, the DJACC uses artists’ cultural influence to show how everyone can take responsibility for their impact on Climate Change.

Find out more (and donate!) at indiegogo.com/DJACC, and come thru the store this Wednesday, where Sammy will break down ways to combat climate change in person while Nick Catchdubs, Star Eyes (Trouble & Bass) and DJ Ayres (The Rub) play tunes from 6-9pm. We’ll also have complimentary refreshments from our friends at Bushmills. Hang and learn! Read More

Telephoned "Nearly Lost You"

Posted on Nov 19th, 2012

Telephoned go grunge with Singles, their upcoming free EP inspired by the Cameron Crowe film (and iconic soundtrack) of the same name. Check Sammy and Maggie as they flip Screaming Trees “Nearly Lost You” over a repurposed Ryan Hemsworth beat, turning it into a moody, bittersweet r&b slow jam in the process. Stay tuned for the rest next week…
