In maybe the most no-brainer post in the history of the blog, Jokers Of The Scene’s remix of Mika’s “We Are Golden” (download here) is getting pressed up on limited edition gold vinyl. To recap: JOTS + LIMITED + GOLD + VINYL. Yaaah trick yaaah! Buy here.
Our bros Flosstradamus are rocking at Webster Hall tonight, check them out if you’re in NYC. They also have snazzy new Dust La Rock-designed tees at their webstore, cop one for you and a boo.
Here’s a backstage pass to a funky show: last night at the Cool Kids / Camp Lo gig at SOB’s, Nice & Smooth dropped in for a guest appearance and our pal Mel D Cole was there to capture Greg Nice proudly sporting a Shake It Down tee. Grab one for yourself at the FG webstore, and check more of Mel’s flicks here.
DJ Gant-Man’s remix of Maluca’s debut single “El Tigeraso” is out now on iTunes and it BANGS. Gant took it straight Humboldt Park with this one, a juked-out merengue rocket just right for the summer. Check Gant at the Juke Fest this weekend in Markham, IL info on his MySpace.
This past weekend the FG fam loaded up our hovercraft and sped down to Norfolk, VA for the opening of Dust La Rock’s “Best Of The Beast” show at Commonwealth’s flagship store. Dust’s pieces looked as stunning as the tattooed mamis at the party, Nick Catchdubs provided nuff tunes (including hidden Fam-Lay gems and a gang of FG exclusives that Virginia was first to ever hear live), and we were greeted by a team of Hampton Roads’ finest, including Chad Hugo of Neptunes / N*E*R*D fame. Check out pics from the night from Commonwealth and Flash You’re Famous – we’ll be linking up more as we get them, though unfortunately no pics exist of the donk exhibition outside 7-11 later that night, or the epic Bojangles meal the following morning.
The opening also marked the debut of Commonwealth’s limited edition Best Of The Beast tee, a Hell’s Satans-worthy garment that you can purchase online while they last. More C’mon x FG collabs coming soon, as well as further graphic awesomeness from the man, the mystery, The Duster.
This Saturday (tomorrow!) we’re proud to present Dust La Rock’s “Best Of The Beast” show at Commonwealth in Norfolk VA (FYI, this is the Virginia Commonwealth, not the DC store. Don’t worry DC, we love you too and will be there soon!)
Nick Catchdubs will be providing the tunes, and we’ll be debuting a devilishly exclusive Dust La Rock x Commonwealth “Best Of The Beast” t-shirt. Limited quantities of the shirt will be available on the Commonwealth webstore next week. Out-of-towners can also purchase actual art pieces from the show on Dust La Rock’s gallery site.
Check Nacho Lovers in Los Angeles this Friday (alongside our homie Klever!) at Avalon for the latest edition of Control. For a taste of what to expect at the party, peep the selections on the Nacho’s latest Beatport chart, including their excellent remix of Alexander Robotnick’s “Obsession For The Disco Freaks” which you can cop here.
As mentioned earlier, the A-Trak x Dust La Rock x Kidrobot “Grateful Bear” drops tomorrow at all Kidrobot stores and fine toy retailers around the globe. To celebrate, Trizzy n Duster are giving their NYC pals a chance to pick theirs up early at a signing at the Kidrobot store in NYC tonight from 6-8pm, followed by a free afterparty at Annex with music by Trouble & Bass and new FG fam Kingdom. Ce-le-brate good times, c’moaawnnn!
So you saw the pics from Dust La Rock’s gallery show Best Of The Beast (hailed everywhere from MTV News and the Village Voice to Diddy’s Twitter) and wished you could have been in the building? Or purchase some of those mindbending museum-quality prints for your own wall? We got you!
The entire BOTB collection is now up on the DLR website, where collectors can purchase pieces from this extremely limited run of signed and numbered Giclée prints beautifully printed on archival paper and canvas. Don’t miss out on the debut collection from our favorite artist in the world (we’re biased, but it’s true!)
If that’s not enough, Dust is taking Best Of The Beast mobile, with an installation this month at Commonwealth in Norfolk, VA. The opening party is July 11th, featuring a DJ set from Nick Catchdubs, Fool’s Gold giveaways, and the release of an exclusive Dust La Rock x Commonwealth t-shirt. Check the flyer after the jump, we’ll see you there! Read More
Kid Cudi’s “Make Her Say” (aka “I Poke Her Face”) is officially out on iTunes in properly mixed + mastered format, and you can purchase by clicking the lil iTunes widget. Dust La Rock on the type treatment!
