Sometimes when I’m zoning out after hours of staring at the computer, I daydream about how Maggie Horn and I will one day have a group called “Telephones” in which we cover current pop hits. In reality, we already do this it just doesn’t have a name yet! The promo photo will be the two of us sitting next to each other, Maggie with a ram’s horn up to hear ear and me with a banana up to mine.
Until that happens, you’ll just have to make due with Maggie’s solo material, namely her BRAND NEW Siren mixtape. It features tracks by yours truly, Blaqstarr, Curses!, Ninjasonik and more. You can download it right here. All you NYCers best come check us out the release party tomorrow night at Webster Hall (full flyer after the jump). Don’t forget to RSVP to get in free. Then you can swing by and catch me at The Player’s Club afterward. Read More

Jokers Of The Scene return to Cali next week with two shows, first at the Viper Room on Jan 14th, followed by a guest set at the notorious Dance party at Arena on the 20th. Meet them in the rave cave – and if you wanna do that from the comfort of your own home, give a listen to Neon Noise on Indie 103.1 FM Saturday night at midnight for a special guest JOTS set.
Check out LA Riots at the Stunna party at 103 Harriet in San Francisco this Friday (1.9) with their homie Felix Cartal and a bunch of local talent spinning alongside ’em. Full info here.
In other Riots news, their take on Kylie Minogue’s “Boombox” is out now on her remix compilation of the same name in the UK (it hits stores Jan 27th stateside). Congrats dudes! Their next foray into absurd uber-pop is an official remix for Chris Cornell and Timbaland’s “Part Of Me” (?!?!) so stay tuned as the takeover continues…
Our resident Northern Cali representer Trackademicks just celebrated his born day (salud!) and filmed a new tune for the occasion at the party. Says he: “The above clip is footage of the most epic Birfday I have had to date. And halfway through the clip it gets better… Just because you read that Hyphy was ‘dead’ in some publication, doesn’t mean the Bay forgot how to go DUMB.”
More pics from the celebration here. Track’s Enjoy What You Do single is in production now, release details announced very soon!
This coming Friday (1.9) Nacho Lovers get housey at the inaugural edition of the all-vinyl Rollin party at Wrongbar in TO. Hit em up!
As alluded to in the recap, we shot some video with Red Foxx at his uber-ravey Heartthrob party in Boston on an off-night during the FG Remixed Tour. The footage was for Jokers Of The Scene’s “Baggy Bottom Boys” video, and Mr Foxxy and the JOTS lads will be filming much more their Disorganised party at Babylon in Ottawa this Friday (aka tonight!). Roll through if you’re in the area, and stay tuned to the blog for more vid updates. Meanwhile, grab “Baggy Bottom Boys” and the rest of the tracks on JOTS’ Acid Bagg EP on Beatport or iTunes now.
