This weekend Kid Sister and I went to Puebla, Mexico for the MX Beat Festival. We were joined by the one and only Kid Brother, Young Josh (as seen in the “Beeper” video). Josh actually played at the same festival a week prior in Guadalajara with my brother. Confused yet? Good. Read More

Wizard of Oz, pt.2: The Crash

Following my last post about Good Vibrations, we’re now on the 2nd and final weekend of the Australian traveling festival. On the agenda: Sydney and the far-away Perth. People had been hyping up this Sydney show for the whole week. This would be the bigger, badder, deffer show of the bunch. We got there, scoped out the grounds as we rode around in our buggy and saw the masses of people undulating in the huge park… yep, this was gonna be a good one. Read More

Good on ya, mates!
(That’s a little deeper in Aussie slang than the obvious “g’day”)
I’m reporting live via my hotel room in Sydney. I’m out here doing the Good Vibrations festival. In Australia they have these festivals that hit multiple cities. It’s like being part of a traveling circus for 10 days. A traveling techno circus. Read More

UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ? VROOOO VROOOOO? CHHHHK wiggledywiggldy CKKKKKKKKKKKRRRRKKKKK?!?!? Yep, they got all that and more. Our dudes in MSTRKRFT are hitting the road with Fool’s Gold’s own LA Riots and distorto disco brothers in arms the Bloody Beetroots and Lazaro Casanova. The trek kicks off on 2/26 in Seattle and goes all the way through SXSW and the Winter Music Conference in March. Some stops on the tour will be MSTRKRFT-only affairs (take that, vowels!) but to help you out with your revelry plans, we copied and pasted all the LA Riots dates after the jump. BAM! Read More
A Night at the Museum, Pt.2
Posted on Feb 3rd, 2008 by A-Trak

It’s a complete coincidence that Kid Sister and I were booked to perform at New York and LA’s Museums of Natural History on consecutive weekends. The events were unrelated, we’re not on a museum tour or anything.
Both turned out to be awesome in their own way. You already saw what the New York one was like last week… Kiiiinda crazy, with the surprise appearance of a fur-clad Kanyeezy. That one was in the planetarium, so it was very much a multi-media themed room. The LA show this weekend was a lot more like what you’d expect to see in a museum of natural history: a giant dinosaur skeleton when you walk in and a bunch of displays of impeccably preserved yaks, bisons, sea lions (those things are big!) and other cuddly creatures in simulated home habitat backdrops. How many times did I yell “stegosaurus!” on the mic during my set? One may never know. Read More
