New Treasure Fingers Remix, JJJ Radio Mix + International Tour Dates

Posted on Jan 20th, 2011

You’re in for a bonanza of goodies from the man with the golden hands today. First up, RCRD LBL presents a download of Treasure Fingers’ remix of Senor Stereo’s “I Am The Beat” feat. Louisahhh (out now on Slow Roast).

This remix featured prominently on TF’s recent mix for JJJ Radio in Australia, which you can download here – right click, save as, and jam out to a collection of TF originals, remixes and new favorites (and the dulcet toned voiceovers of JJJ host Nina Las Vegas).

The JJJ mix is timed with Treasure Fingers’ upcoming tour dates, which kick off tomorrow (1/21) in Byron Bay, Australia and takes him all over the continent, then to Asia, back to the states, off to Europe, and back home again for SXSW, all in the course of two months. Check the full dates after the jump (or on our handy events calendar). Read More

New Slow Roast: Senor Stereo Remixes

Posted on Jan 12th, 2011

Fresh from the Slow Roast grill comes this amazing package of Senor Stereo remixes, which you can pick up exclusively at Beatport (other digi retailers to follow). The disco-inspired trio of Danny Daze, Gigamesh and Joe Maz have been producing on their own (and in various combinations together) for years, but first hit the scene as SS this past summer with the release of their Unintentional EP – the tracks quickly became DJ favorites, so it’s no surprise that these brand-new remixes more than follow suit, with Treasure Fingers, Nadastrom, U-Tern, Salva, Craze and SS’s own Gigamesh all providing awesome, instantly-clubbable new versions. Cop em!

Be sure to check out what else Slow Roast has been up to lately on their blog, including free mixes from Codes and Atlantic Connection, and Kill The Noise’s collab with Deadmau5 acolyte Feed Me. ‘EVY CHUNE! (KTN is in NYC this Friday for a free warehouse party this Friday too.) Read More

Cosmo's Crates: Born This Way

Posted on Jan 11th, 2011

Cosmo Baker is back with more insight from his wax stacks. Read on and be sure to check his other columns.

What’s good, Fool’s Gold massive? Your favorite record nerd is back again to drop some gems on you, and when I say “gems” I really mean useless shit from the treasure trove that is La Cabeza De Cosmo. Now it’s fucking crazy to me that, here in the 21st Century, there still isn’t equal rights for the LGBT community in America. I cannot wrap my head around the fact that 2 people who love each other and devote their lives to one another, that are gay, do not share the same rights as those who are straight. One day, people will look back at this time and just be ashamed of themselves. Another thing that drives me absolutely batshit crazy are those people in the DJ and dance music community who are completely (consciously or not) homophobic. Don’t you know, if it weren’t for the gay community, none of this shit would even be here in the way it is? But that all might be another discussion for another time, and my time is so very precious, so let me get right to the music this week with “I Was Born This Way.” Read More
