When Alexander Robotnick was in NYC two months ago, he recorded an exclusive interview and DJ set for Turntable Lab’s Scion Radio show. Listen to it here!

One of the highlights of our past month was checking out Alexander Robotnick play a rare DJ set here in NYC. It was an expert mix of jams new and old, and we highly recommend that you roll through when he comes to your town.
Conveniently, London gets their chance this weekend, when Robotnick rocks Cargo on Saturday (9.26) alongside John Morales, Magistrates, the Chap, and our buds in Neon Indian. It’s a pay-what-you-want gig, with half the profits going to Amnesty International. Disco meets do-goodery? Yes please! Full info at cargo-london.com. AR’s “Obsession For The Disco Freaks” out now on iTunes, Beatport and good ol vinyl.

Finally! We got the 12″s back for DJ Gant-Man’s “Juke Dat Girl” (featuring remixes by Nadastrom and Greenmoney) and Alexander Robotnick’s “Obsession For The Disco Freaks” (with Nacho Lovers, Freeform Five, and Li’ll Bo Tweak mixes) and they look BEAUTIFUL!!!
Purchase these now at Turntable Lab - here’s links to buy Gant-Man and Robotnick - and everywhere else fine vinyl is sold. If you own a store and want to put in a wholesale order, hit the jump for details. (more…)

The man, the myth, the dancer… Alexander Robotnick hits NYC for a rare DJ set tonight at Plan B (339 E 10th St @ Ave B) and thanks to our friends at Scion, it’s totally free! Fellow FG fam Mikix The Cat (check for his Malente remix out soon) and Blu Jemz will be rocking as well, Jemz has more details over on the TTLab Blog.
Afterwards, Robotnick will be rocking Metro Gallery in Baltimore with Scottie B and Cullen Stalin on Wednesday (9.16) and Electric Pickle in Miami with the Poplife crew on Saturday (9.19). “Obsession For The Disco Freaks” vinyl goes on sale later this week as well. Finally!
Meanwhile, grab the digital “Obsession…” single (featuring excellent remixes from Freeform Five, Nacho Lovers and Li’ll Bo Tweak) on iTunes and Beatport.

Hit up Alexander Robotnick’s Soundcloud page for a bunch of audio goodies including some newly uploaded Kraftwerk edits, his own classic “Problèmes d Amour” and this great “Just Robotnick” mix. As the title suggests, it’s composed entirely of Robo-tunes, and as you’ve already guessed, it’s awesome. Download!
We got a great response from last week’s clip of Alexander Robotnick and his bud Ludus Pinsky oscillating in the studio. So it comes as a treat to stumble across this new vid of them jamming out on Robotnick’s YouTube page, kicking a new tune called “N5 From Outerspace.” More soon!

Grab this remix of Frost’s “One Hundred Years” by Alexander Robotnick for free thanks to our buds at RCRD LBL.
Be sure to pick up Robotnick’s FG single “Obsession For The Disco Freaks” on iTunes or Beatport if you haven’t already. Because it is excellent.
Update: Also on RCRD LBL today is this Laidback Luke remix of MSTRKRFT’s “Heartbreaker.” Fool’s Gold friends + fam freebies!

Alexander Robotnick means “Alexander The Worker” in Russian, and it couldn’t be a more fitting moniker - his tunes have worked, jacked and shook down dancefloors for the better part of three decades. Cult hits like “Problemes d’Amour” and “Dance Boy Dance” continue to be spun by DJs around the world for a reason - they were ambitious, futuristic cuts when first released in the early 80s, and remain timeless club rockers today, continuing to influence modern producers almost note-for-note.
Fool’s Gold is proud to continue the Robotnick tradition with the exclusive North American release of his latest, “Obsession For The Disco Freaks.” The Fool’s Gold digital and 12″ single comes backed by brand new reworks from some of today’s current electronic masters: Nacho Lovers, Freeform Five and Li’ll Bo Tweak.
Buy now on iTunes and Beatport, vinyl on its way! Check his homemade “Obsession” video after the jump. (more…)
