As Kid Sis puts the finishing touches on her looooooong awaited LP, we went ahead and dropped this treat especially for all the record spinners out there who were her earliest supporters - an official single for album cut “Get Fresh” exclusively on vinyl and Beatport, where you can buy it today! It comes complete with brand new remixes from homies Zombie Nation (who’s “Lower State Of Consciousness” as ZZT provided sample fodder for the original) and Alex Gopher. To whet your appetite, here’s the Gopher mix courtesy of our friends at RCRD LBL.
Annie Mac and Andy George have already been rinsing the new mixes on BBC, and they’re sure to light up DJ sets all throughout Winter Music Conference and SXSW - where you can conveniently catch Kid Sister performing live every night of the fest, including the late night Fool’s Gold After Dark spectacular on 3/19. Check the info on her MySpace.

Jokers Of The Scene recently whipped up one ‘evy, ‘evy remix for Flosstradamus’ “Big Bills,” taking Caroline Polachek’s moody, Nico-esque vocals to their logical extreme by turning the whole track into a dark and thumping Berlin basement jam. Download JOTS’ “After 4AM Rework” for free (along with the original track and additional remixes from Blaqstarr and Floss themselves) at the “Big Bills” Green Label Sound page.
“The t-shirt tells a true story! Need I remind you that the Walkie Talkie tour was 1 year ago…” explains A-Trak. Grab this better late than never So-Me designed garment at the Cool Cats webstore, and catch A-Trak and Mehdi teaming up again at Studio B in Brooklyn this Saturday (3/14) for the Infinity +1 Release Party.
When I was Down Under a few weeks ago, I had the great pleasure to spend an afternoon volunteering with Heaps Decent, the Aussie music outreach organization set up by Diplo and run by Andrew Levins and Nina Agzarian. Heaps has been involved in a number of projects over the past two years and one of their current focuses is a weekly class at Key College in Sydney, a high school run by the organization Youth Off the Streets. Click through for the full story and to hear what me made!
The entire FG family is headed down to Austin, Texas next week for schmoozin, boozin and CHOOONS! Check us (and our pals!) at Fool’s Gold After Dark, going down late night Thursday (3/19) from Midnight to 5am at Palm Door (401 Sabine St).

This Friday on The FADER’s “The Let Out” on East Village Radio, they had ATLien and Killer Mike associate Pill by to kick some rhymes, and whaddayaknow, one of the tracks he goes over just happens to be Trackademicks’ “Topsidin” instrumental from the “Enjoy What You Do / Topsidin” single (available here and everywhere else digital music is sold, vinyl on its way!) Sure, it’s a “freestyle” in the most literal sense, but as always it’s cool to hear other rappers on our stuff.
Elsewhere on the internet airwaves, you can listen to this extensive Trackademicks interview with Streets Is Talking Radio right here. “In the words of Mac Mall, this interview is full of ‘Nathan But Game,’” says Track. Grab it!
The latest in Ms Victoria Hesketh’s series of homemade covers just happens to be a tune we released - good timing, as she’ll be DJing at “Fool’s Gold After Dark” in Austin this month, details and RSVP info up shortly…
