Speaking of awards…this past April, the winners of the annual Mixtape Awards (aka the Justos, in honor of their founder, the late Justo Faison) were announced at a ceremony in NYC. Lo and behold, right at the top of the list for “Best Canadian Mixtape DJ” was Fool’s Gold’s very own A-Trak. Sharing the winners circle with Khaled, Miami Kaos and Cocaine City DVD Magazine is a memorable moment, to say the least, so of course we want to be able to grab the actual award for Trizzy while he’s touring overseas. Except no one seems to know where to pick it up. If you do, hit us up.
Yeaaahhhhhh! Kid Sister has been nominated for a 2008 BET Award for “Best Female Hip Hop Artist” alongside Missy Elliott, Eve, Lil Mama, and Trina. The full list of nominees can be found here. We’re all beyond proud of our girl, excited to see the winner announced on June 24th, and relieved to know that we can always call Young Buck for backup in case something pops off.
This Friday’s edition of the Space Cakes party at Hugs (108 N.6th, BKLYN) is going to be a big one. Like we mentioned earlier, the NYC kickoff for the Treasure Fingers / Kill The Noise “School’s Out Forever” tour this Wednesday (5/13) is gonna be a special one - it’s doubling as the launch party for Contagious Musiq’s NYC branch, and will feature special guest appearances by Jokers Of The Scene and FG extended familia Craze, Klever and DJ Ayres, along with the Fun DJs Eamon Harkin and Rok One.
